加拿大持牌移民顾问一般需要接受正式的培训（>300小时，5个月全日学习)，课程包括以下主题：

加拿大移民法律和政策 （40小时）

IMCD 01 Principles of Immigration Law and Policy (40 hours)

学习加拿大移民和难民法 。
the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

学习加拿大与移民有关的立法机构，移民部的处理程序
the constitutional and judicial framework applied to the Canadian immigration policy, structure, regulations and policymaking process of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), the sources of the Immigration Law, and trade agreements.

IMCD 02 Economic Classes (36 hours)

in the application of the requirements, criteria and procedures to process applications for economic and family classes. It will allow them to analyze the eligibility of foreign nationals as permanent residents in Canada as members of a class.

explore and critically analyze the different types of permits, rules, requirements, and applications for temporary resident visas.

难民申请类别（28小时）

IMCD 04 Refugee Classes (28 hours)

Students will analyze the principles, legal characteristics and requirements established to assist and represent a client as a Convention Refugee or a Person in Need of Protection. Students will develop aspects and issues concerning removal orders and learn the process for making refugee claims.

IMCD 05 Client Representation (36 hours)

Students will be trained in assisting applicants applying under any immigration class, determining admissibility, use of different forms, research references and resources using traditional and electronic sources. They will learn to represent clients at appeals, admissibility hearings, examinations, judicial reviews, refugee hearings, and preremoval risk assessment applications

IMCD 06 Professional Practice Management (60 hours)

This course will guide students in the preparation of a business plan, providing information about business operations, financial aspects of consulting immigration, and human resources management skills. Students will also develop knowledge about the characteristics of a learning organization, the use of technology and its impact on communications, the organization communication and the marketing process.

IMCD 07 Professional Conduct and Ethics (20 hours)

学习移民顾问守则和操守。
Students will develop the concepts of ethics and the conflicts and process of ethical decision making. They will emphasize the analysis of the rules of professional conduct for immigration consultants providing case studies and examples, according to CSIC.

IMCD 08 Immigration Consulting Research and Application (80 hours)

移民咨询业务实习，实例分析。在移民公司见习。研究案例，移民知识应用。
Develop information about the existence of professional organizations and government committees that may influence or may be related with the practice of immigration consulting. They will experience real issues faced by immigration practitioners in the field work. This professional practicum allows students to be in contact with a related job environment and assess the values of immigration practices. Students will also present a research project that will be used to evaluate the student’s knowledge and skills, taking into account the steps, procedures, methods and techniques to collect and analyze information.
