3142 加拿大物理治疗师的职责概述 

物理治疗师需要评估病人的病情，并制定和帮助病人完成针对个人的治疗方案，以此来保持、提高或恢复病人的生理功能、减轻他们的痛苦、预防躯体功能障碍。 Physiotherapists assess patients and plan and carry out individually designed treatment programs to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Physiotherapists are employed in hospitals, clinics, industry, sports organizations, rehabilitation centres and extended care facilities, or they may work in private practice.

3142 加拿大物理治疗师的主要职责 Main duties

物理治疗师应履行下列部分或全部职责： Physiotherapists perform some or all of the following duties:

• 通过评估程序来评估病人的体能，如功能能力测试 Assess patients’ physical abilities through evaluative procedures such as functional ability tests

• 在物理诊断的基础上，给病人制定治疗目标 Establish treatment goals with patients based on physical diagnoses

• 计划并实施物理治疗方案，包括运动疗法、按摩、教育、使用电疗仪和其他机械设备以及水疗法 Plan and implement programs of physiotherapy including therapeutic exercise, manipulations, massage, education, the use of electro-therapeutic and other mechanical equipment and hydro-therapy

• 评估治疗效果，并做相应的修改 Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and modify accordingly

• 针对病人出现的问题、需求和进展情况，同咨询医师和其他医疗专业人士进行沟通和交流 Communicate with referring physician and other healthcare professionals regarding patients’ problems, needs and progress

• 整理临床统计记录并和其他医护专业人员交换意见 Maintain clinical and statistical records and confer with other health care professionals

• 为病人、工作人员和社区群众制定并实施健康促进计划 Develop and implement health promotion programs for patients, staff and the community

• 可能会进行理疗方面的研究 May conduct research in physiotherapy

• 要求物理治疗学专业的大学学位，而且接受过一段时间的理疗实践培训 A university degree in physiotherapy and a period of supervised practical training are required.

• 要从事该行业，必须有监管机构颁发的许可证或者登记在册 A licence or registration with a regulatory body is required to practise physiotherapy in all provinces.

• 可能要通过由理疗联盟管理委员会承办的国家物理疗法考试 Completion of the Physiotherapy National Exam, administered by the Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulatory Boards, may be required.
