新移民，新家园：怎样填写加拿大银行的支票？

1. 支票账户/Cheque Account：这种账户可让你根据需要随时提取资金。在你开出支票之前，必须确定你的账户有足够的资金支付支票上的金额。有些国家把这种账户称为活期账户。
2. 支票延后兑现/Cheque Hold：支票在存入时都有一个“延后兑现”期，以确保兑现该支票的金融机构不会退票。
3. 支票/Cheque 是付款人向银行发出的正式书面指令，指示银行从其账户上支付指定的金额给支票上列明的收款人。

支票内容详解

下面是支票样本：

1. 请用原子笔填写，不得使用铅笔 / Always use a pen when writing a personal check – never a pencil. 你的姓名地址，银行分行行址，支票序号，支票填写日期，以数字（如：1,200. 00/）表示的金额，以英文（如：Thousand,Hundred,Ten）表示的金额，收款人或公司名称，支票全码包括： 3位数字（支票序号）+ 5位数字（银行分行序号）+ 3位数字（金融机构序号）+11位（银行账号）.
2. 在日期栏写上正确的日期格式： 日日/月月/年年年年 Write in correct date on the “Date Line”.
3. 用英文写上收款人的姓名或收款机构的名称 / On the “Pay to the Order” line, write in the name of the person or company to whom the check is being written. “pay to the order of”
4. 金额栏要填上含两位小数点的阿拉伯数字 （如：$145.34）/ In the “Dollar Box”, write in the numeric value the check. 金額那欄要填上數字
5. 支票数字使用大写（Thousand, Hundred, Ten）,分/角部分要用分数表示 / On the “Dollar Amount Line”, write out the spoken representation of the amount written into the “Dollar Box”. Utilize the cents as a fractional representation.
   6. 签名栏请写上要开支票人的名字 / On the “Signature Line”, sign your name.

注意事项

1. 国外支票 在填写完整金额部分时,cent部分的写法是 “英文数字表达” and 多少cent/ 100,后面那条线一直划到dollars前面,用意是防止别人乱改数字. Don’t let somebody add a number before the amount you wrote in.
2. Memo的部分是给自己参考对帐用的, 将来可以查看这笔钱是付给哪批货或那个人用的,  可以写也可以不写。
3. 写完支票应该再一次核对the number, the date, the transaction description做double check的动作。
4. 有些支票本的后面是有carbon（复写）的，你的字迹都有print在carbon上，以便留档。
5. 最后一步是记录你开出的支票在支票本登记簿( register), record it in your register。
